I loved the first few books in this series but I honestly can't read them anymore. The monotony just ruined the reading experience for me. *snicker* Painted orgasm you say? When you start flipping through the sex scenes, you might as well not finish the book. Don’t you hate when the writing style makes you loose the rhythm of the story?

Agree 100%.
I think the series should have been put to rest after book #7. At least that was a reasonable conclusion.
I also keep reading Hamilton’s books because there are certain characters I still love (Doyle, Frost – Jean-Claude, Jason etc) but it seems (judging from ‘Divine’ and ‘Skin Trade’) that Hamilton is bored by her own beloved characters, and insists on hooking Merry & Anita up with new men instead of the ones they have supposedly fallen in love with. What is up with that!?

One of my most hated sex lines that Hamilton marches out in *every* book is “I screamed my orgasm into his mouth”. I think it’s time her men bought out a ball-gag.
