Your wishlist and Kindle books can be friends!

I have been cursing amazon.com forever because there is no “add to wishlist” button on Kindle book pages. Now, I understand why theoretically… other people can’t purchase books for your Kindle for you since they have to be associated with your personal Kindle. However, some of us have huge lists of books we want to read eventually and it would be awfully nifty to be able to add those to a wishlist. Then, when we have free cash we can just pop on over to our wishlist and purchase with a click.

So, I was whining about this exact problem on twitter when @mykindlestuff let me know that you can indeed add Kindle books to your wishlist! You just have to be crafty about it.

  • First step, create your amazon wishlist. You can use your general wishlist or you can create one that is Kindle books only.
  • Second step, go to this amazon page and grab the Universal Wish List button. You drag this button from the page up onto the menu bar of your browser.
  • Finally, when you are on a page of a Kindle book you want to add to your list, simply click the “Add to Wish List” button your browser menu bar. Voila, said Kindle book is now on your wish list!
  • As I stated above, the wishlist does have limitations – friends and family can not purchase kindle books for you! However, you can use it to track the upcoming releases YOU want to purchase. Thank you amazon and @mykindlestuff for enabling me!
